Celebrating partnership, legacy, and student pride!

Students of PS/IS 116Q proudly held the Emerald Impact Community Partner Award presented by the Greater Queens Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, honoring years of meaningful collaboration through tutoring, STEM enrichment, and unforgettable educational trips.

Alongside the award, students held special memorabilia that reflects the impact of this partnership—from signed books by Cheryl Willis after her inspiring read-aloud of Emma, to the powerful history shared through Soaring to Glory: A Tuskegee Airman’s Firsthand Account of World War II, written by Philip Handleman and Harry T. Stewart Jr.—bringing to life the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen through a personal family connection shared by a Link sister.

The PS/IS 116Q community is deeply grateful for this enduring partnership. Our principal, Dr. Malagoli, was proud to accept the award on behalf of the entire school community. Together, we celebrate mentorship, history, and the power of community to inspire the next generation.
